100% of the fresh pork, beef, lamb, poultry and milk we sell in our stores is British and certified by Red Tractor giving customers assurance on food safety, hygiene, animal welfare standards and environmental protection.
The Red Tractor standard was launched in 2000 to give consumers confidence that the UK sourced food they eat is farmed to some of the most comprehensive and respected standards in the world. All stages are regularly checked by independent expert auditors.
Back in 2010 we were the first retailer to put Red Tractor all the fresh meat we sell in our stores.
In addition to Red Tractor Standards, we sometimes look at other measures to help develop high standards of animal health and welfare. For example, additional measures are checked on all the farmers supplying our fresh pork to assure standards of heath, safety and welfare for the staff and livestock on the farms we buy from.
We work closely with Red Tractor at all times and are also on the sector boards for poultry and produce.
